Gold River Real Estate
Gold River is an expansive and lush planned community located near Rancho Cordova but still in an unincorporated area of Sacramento. It is bordered by Highway 50, Hazel Avenue, the American River, and Sunrise Boulevard, with Gold Country Boulevard being the main (slow and scenic) thoroughfare.
Overseen by the Gold River Community Association, the area is actually comprised of more than 25 subdivisions, or “villages,” each named for a historical person. The villages range in size, some comprised of just a few homes, others spanning a few blocks, but they are all consistently stylish and well kept. The association, along with a strong effort from residents, strives to keep the area pleasant and appealing.
There’s plenty of opportunity for fitness and recreational activities, with miles of bike trails winding through the area and easy access to the American River Parkway. Gold River Park is a small four-acre park featuring play structures, horseshoe pits, picnic areas and a soccer field. There’s also the Gold River Racquet Club, with swimming, tennis, racquetball and squash courts, as well as fitness classes and youth programs.
The Sacramento Aquatic Center sits just on the other side of Hazel and also offers an array of classes – from kayaking and stand up paddling (SUP) to windsurfing and waterskiing.
Gold River Discovery Center is the resident elementary school and shopping can be found at the nearby Gold River Town Center on Sunrise. A number of restaurants are also close by, including Il Forno Classico, which was featured in Sacramento Magazine.
